Reminder to our Citizens
Living in a small town often gives residents a feeling of safety and security. Ashland is a great town to live in, but security is as easy as locking car doors and house doors. Help keep our great town free of easy targets!
All community leaders within Cass County have agreed to make the following request to everyone residing within our boundaries; Please wear some sort of facial covering when going out into public. It can be a bandana, or anything that covers both the mouth and nose. Many ideas are available on line. Everyone desires to get back to "normal". Working together will expedite that possibility. A strategy like this needs 100% participation. This will protect you from the virus and protect others from you. Please partner with us to make this request a reality throughout Cass County. Again, this is a request not a mandate. Together, we will get thru this if everyone does their part. Feel free to share with your friends, family and associates.

Emergency Notification List
In an effort to increase communication between the village and the community members about boil orders, emergency notifications and other important information, we are developing an email list to notify and update the town. If you would be interested in receiving notifications and updates, please click the link below to be taken to a form that will help us gather the information.
If you would prefer to fill out your information on paper, copies will be available at the Village Hall.
Cass Communications has set up a Hot Spot here at the Municipal Bldg. If you park on Yates Street, reception is good.
Due to the threat of the COVID-19 virus, the Ashland Municipal Building will be closed to public walk-ins beginning Thursday, March 19, 2020 until further notice.
If you need to establish water service or discontinue service, please contact the Village Clerk at (217) 476-3317 during regular hours. (8:30 am – 4:30 pm)
Water bills can be paid online at or you may use the drop box at the Municipal Building. If you use the drop box, and pay by cash, please use an envelope. Your receipt will be mailed to you.
Hopefully this precaution will not be for a long period of time, but we need to take the necessary steps to keep our employees and residents safe.
Thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time for all of us. Please feel free to contact me at any time with your questions or concerns.
