The Heart of Lincolnland

The Village of Ashland is literally built in the heart of Illinois' Lincolnland.  When Abraham Lincoln arrived in Illinois he settled in his home of New Salem, just 20 minutes northeast of Ashland.  His adult life was spent in Springfield, 18 miles from the village.
